A personal pricing philosophy from Jason Highbarger, founder of Paragon Programming.

No fixed price is fair. So I stopped trying to find one.

I wrestled with pricing for a long time — $200, $300, $400 — trying to balance fair compensation for exceptional service with global accessibility. Every traditional price point created the same problem: it worked for some gyms but excluded others.

Consider this:

Then clarity struck: I would do something no business has done before. I would charge the equivalent of what my clients charge their members.

This eliminates affordability concerns entirely. Any gym owner worldwide who wants professional programming for their members can afford it — and can easily budget for it. It costs them exactly one membership.

This is the fairest way to serve gyms everywhere, regardless of location, and ensure cost never becomes a barrier to excellence.

For me, this is non-negotiable: affordability for every gym worldwide.

As CrossFit Founder Greg Glassman says, “Affiliates are the lifeboats to the world.”

My drive in providing this service is to help fellow affiliate and gym owners prosper — those committed to serving their communities. To support the coaches who champion their cause, teaching and leading members daily. And ultimately, to serve the members themselves — the people at the heart of every thriving gym.

Providing world-class programming to every gym that wants it — regardless of where they are or what they can afford — is simply the best way I know to help the greatest number of people.

With that mission, subscription cost cannot be prohibitive, regardless of how exceptional the service is.

I hold my service to the same standard you hold yours. No gym owner anywhere can say our price is too high when it's the exact rate they charge their own members. If it's a fair rate for your members, it's a fair rate for you.
